Yes, She’s My First Born – But Not My First Baby

October 30, 2018November 6, 2018 / Misty / Leave a comment

It never fails when I’m out with my daughter, someone always asks, ‘Is she your first?’ They must assume that because she’s the only kid in the cart, she’s my only child. It has become a reflex to smile and say yes. A little chit chat about how quickly they grow and how I should cherish these moments usually follows …

To My Best Friend After A Miscarriage

April 30, 2018 / Misty / Leave a comment

I’m sorry. Those words have never felt so inadequate, so insignificant. Because I am so much more than sorry. I’m sad. And angry. And confused. And heartbroken. Welcome to Winging Motherhood! I’m Misty, a picture-taking, coffee-loving, physician assistant from Buffalo, NY. When I’m not working or chasing my girls, you can find me on the local running trails or getting lost in a good book.

My husband and I are college sweethearts, though we met when we were just kids. After almost 10 years we finally settled down, got hitched, built a house and had two little girls, Calista and Camila.

We love to explore our hometown of Buffalo, especially now that we can share it with our girls.

I realized after having my first daughter, no matter how prepared you think you are for motherhood, you’re really just winging it. We’re all just doing the best we can to keep our tiny humans alive. So if you feel like you’re winging it too, you’re in good company.
